SLOW… Or On-The-Go™ Café

My husband and five year old stumbled upon the gem. We met the owner and he extended the utmost hospitality and kindness to us. We tried the smoothie— my son and I loved it. My husband said his iced coffee was amazing and referring. I enjoyed a slice of vegan cake that was delicious— down to the last bite. The part that really stuck with us was the way that the staff made us feel comfortable and at home. We were thankful to find a healthier option while on vacation. Their food kicks off next week and I’m sad we’ll miss that since we’ll be back home. We will definitely return on our next trip.

Our Tampa Bay Latin Chamber hosted a successful Cafecito Con Conexiones networking event at Slow or on the go cafe. Roy and his wonderful staff provided excellent service. Their food selection offers healthy fresh food, vegan choices, pastries and also full breakfast options . I highly recommend the charcuterie boards. Firstly, I want to say walking into the café, I was greeted with a warm, friendly welcome immediately. The vibes were clean, friendly, and you can smell their amazing roast brewing. My mom comes to this café every time and would tell me about her experience and the close relationship she’s built with baristas and staff. Being a coffee lover, I was so excited to go for our mother-daughter day. We got to meet the owner of the coffee shop and hear a bit of their story and the importance of the café to them, which made me and my mom feel connected with the establishment. The baristas were super helpful in helping me navigate their menu options. I got to try their blonde espresso iced with cold foam, and my mom got their mocha latte. My first sip, I was amazed with the quality of their espresso! So much better than other chain coffee shops that I’ve been to. It wasn’t bitter or watered down, just perfect! For food, we got to sample their vegan chocolate cake (a menu item they created from scratch). which was surprisingly good as chocolate isn’t my favorite flavor, but after taking my first bite, my mom and I had to get two slices to go! The cake is moist and melts in your mouth perfectly! With all that being said, I definitely recommend coming here to work, bring a friend/family, or grab an espresso for an energy boost and vibe recharge!

The proprietor's name is Roy. He's a great conversationalist and explains everything to you. The attending staff are enjoyable and always willing to give you suggestions and thoughts on different items. I promise you will enjoy your visit; if not, I'm sure they will give you your money back. First off, there are a total of 3 places I like the coffee from in this area of FL, this is one of the best. The food is also delicious, I've had the Irish style stew, salads and the Greek yogurt bowl, all fresh, filling and very tasty. Lastly so many casual places in FL are kind of downscale, not clean, sticky tables, shabby etc, this place is the polar opposite, it has been pristine every time we've gone in there (and considering everything is white that says a lot), the staff are also always happy and friendly. They also have a focus on providing many gluten free and vegan options, as a gluten free person, this is desperately needed here. Highly recommended!

So I ordered an avocado toast, it was made wrong didn’t taste good. I came back an hour later and asked for a refund because I couldn’t eat it. Without hesitation they refunded my whole order! And it gets even better, they asked what the could do to make it right? I said it’s all good no worries but they insisted! 20 minutes later the manager hand delivered a brand new avocado toast just the way I like plus some dessert and a beverage completely free! I love this place! Definitely recommend they are awesome :)

My girlfriend, Pam, and I share the same birthday so she arranged a party for us at Slow or On the Go. Every single one of us was truly impressed with the quality of service, the aesthetics and cleanliness of the place (including the bathroom!), the friendliness, helpfulness, generosity and truly in communication participation of the owner (Roy) and staff. Absolutely stellar. The gorgeous South African tea service was trimmed with real gold, if you can believe that. There are gluten free desserts and food for those who want such and everything presented, including beautiful salads and desserts are made a a real person, Ashley. My personal favorite was the tiramisu. I will only eat it if it is moist, less cake, more cream. That was the birthday cake! I could have eaten a pan of it and will definitely return just for that for treats for my friends and group meetings. One more thing - I asked for strong coffee and I got it!! Having my birthday there with friends made it one of the more pleasurable I’ve had (I’m 78) and everyone was quite glad they’d been invited.

This is a healthy, Vegan- friendly establishment with amazing options and occasional high-noon tea gatherings on Sunday that I suggest you try out because there are also dancers that will occasionally be there as well. I ended up having the Cape Town Bobotie Bowl which, they offer a gluten- free option, includes mild curried ground beef topped with golden egg custard, served with rice or toasted sourdough, a side salad, chips, and Mrs. Ball's chutney. The best thing about how this was served is that it's flavorful by itself but if you are a person that is used to excessive salt or pepper, they offer that for you to add to whatever level you desire.
